Description

Art Trade with the wonderful and amazingly talented :Herola: of her character Blaukri
NOTE: THIS IS NOT A DRAGON!! Just wanted to put that out there
This is a Venefidae a really awesome species that she created! Please go and check it out, they're, like, AMAZING

THIS WAS SO MUCH FUN TO DRAW OMG!! Literally, I thoroughly enjoyed this. I had this pose in mind and I really wanted to draw it! Although, I couldn't figure out how to get the arms and legs to look. SO, I asked my parent to take a picture of me in this pose for a reference, and I'm pretty sure that she was like "wut the heck is wrong with me child". Hopefully not B)

However, there are a few mistakes that I made, and realized right after completing it. Though, I hope that you enjoy this Hero!
I believe this is one of my few all digital drawings, and I'm proud with how it came out
Total time spent: I believe an hour for sketching, and at least three from lineart to completion

AND I WOULD APPRECIATE SOME FEEDBACK IF YOU HAVE THE TIME TO DROP OFF A COMMENT! THAT WOULD BE GREAT!l

Hope you like it Hero!!
Art belongs to ME
Blaukri and Venefidae species belong to :iconherola:

Hello from ProjectComment

I went and had a look at the original version of the character, and your likeness is definitely recognizable! I know it can be hard to draw someone else's character decently, but you managed to convey the character well. :)

I think for critique, I'll focus on the pose--It's definitely a dynamic pose (and I think what caught my eye,) but it could still use some improvement. The main thing I notice is the balance. Since you used a person-model, you've got a pretty good start, but if she's standing on the ball of her foot/toe as it appears she is, she'd be just about to fall over. If she had a human-type foot, it would be a bit less of a problem due to the larger base, but here you need to be extra sure to keep her balanced over her ankle and knee.

If you're interested, this is a pretty detailed guide to posing and balance. I think page 9 is where the really good stuff starts.

Keep practicing and keep improving! :D
